As people say, one of love stories , which is described in work by William Shakespeare was born in Lviv. On the Prospect Chornovola, in front of hotel "Lviv" you can see two lovers who became the heroes of his works. Stretching out their hands to each other, they prove the sincerity of their feelings. The author of this composition is Lviv artist Myhayil Hoza.

As say, these lovers are Italian Romualdo Mikellini and Ukrainian Pelagia, they are children from two merchant families. When they saw each other immediately fell in love. Then was started a real passion, but not between themselves in love, between their families, because the guy was a Catholic, and the girl - Orthodox.

Lovers were very happy, but not so long. Once Mikellini was forced to go for Venice. It was at this time when in Lviv spread the plague. Coming to his beloved, he found her very ill. All the time he was caring her, not leaving for a minute. However, all attempts to cure Pelagia been vain. He was feeling that death is near, so Romualdo asked to prepare two tombstones, on which was depicted two hearts linked laurel branch and cut the inscription: "What is love forever joined, even death never to separate."

As say, Mikellini's friends told this tragic story in Italy. Affected Italians have made this story a novel, which saw William Shakespeare. They say that this story was put to basis for the play "Romeo and Juliet".
